ou know it’s going to be a good day when you're surrounded by dogs, sheep, horses, tractors… and a legendary 1997 Ford Fiesta.

This weekend, we pitched up at the Arthington Show, a proper Yorkshire agricultural day out — full of charm, character, and community spirit. Among the livestock competitions and horse displays, you’d have found us with our axe throwing range and Norðheim fundraising stall, holding our own amongst the best of the countryside.
It was a glorious mix: the crack of axes alongside the bark of terriers, with the smell of hay and burgers in the air. We might not have brought archery this time, but the axe lane was buzzing all day with folks of all ages having a go, letting off steam, and discovering their inner Viking (or at least hitting the target now and then).
One of the absolute highlights? Terrier racing. If you’ve never cheered for small dogs tearing across a field like their lives depended on it, you haven’t lived. We were hoarse from shouting and grinning like fools. It was brilliant.
Of course, we were also there for something close to our hearts — raising funds and awareness for the Norðheim Viking Village project. We had some incredible conversations with curious locals, and we were blown away by how many people loved the idea. The encouragement meant the world, and every single coin dropped into the pot brings us closer to raising longhouses and lighting hearth fires.
Thank you to everyone who threw an axe, stopped for a chat, or supported the cause. Your kindness fuels the dream.
Arthington, you were wonderful.
Until next time —Skol.
