Feasting, Fire & Flying Axes – Northern Realms at Pool Feast

Sunshine. Smoke. Steel. And the unmistakable sound of laughter mixed with the thunk of axes meeting timber. This year’s Pool Feast at Pool Cricket Ground was an unforgettable day of music, food, and full-blown Viking chaos — and the Northern Realms crew was right at the heart of it.

Armed with our mobile axe throwing and longbow archery set-up, we delivered a proper dose of fun event entertainment with axe throwing to festival-goers of all ages. From seasoned throwers to first-timers, the skill (and sheer enthusiasm) on show was something to behold. More than a few locals proved themselves ready for Valhalla!

As always, our appearance wasn’t just about entertainment — it was a chance to connect with the community and raise funds for our dream project: Norðheim, an immersive Viking experience in the making. With our fundraising stall for the Viking village, we had brilliant chats all day long, shared the vision, and thanks to everyone’s generosity, we raised a few hundred pounds towards the build. Every penny brings us closer to carving Norðheim into the landscape.

The atmosphere? Electric. The weather? Glorious. The music? Absolutely top-notch, with incredible local artists lighting up the stage from start to finish. Whether you were dancing barefoot in the grass or lining up for another go at the target, the spirit of the North was alive and well.
